i used system and restore to fix some problems i had on my comp, now i have a my old disk structure dir, how do i restore some of those programs on that dir, help please, i may need step by step instructions

What are you saying? There is a System Restore but there is no "system and
restore".

Did you use Windows XP System Restore which only restores Windows XP files
or did you use System Restore CDs provided by your OEM which deletes your
primary drive partition and restores your computer to the as built
confutation?

If your expect help you must provide some useful information.

I think you need to reinstall all your programs.
Because I guess the settings are gone for those programs you had before.
