See this article on my website:

If you don't want mail to be left on the server just remove the tick from
the box 'Leave a copy of messages on server' in step 6.

I don't have this option of "Leave copy of messages on server" . I would have
done that, but without that option... no way for me to execute it. :((

John,
thanks for replying to my question... Here is the problem: I don't even have
a DELIVERY section in the Advanced tab... wonder why???

Only a POP account has that Delivery section.
Your account must be an IMAP account.
With an IMAP account, your local emails are a mirror copy of what's on
the server. If you delete an email from the server, it will be deleted from
the IMAP folder on your computer. The only way to avoid that is to move
the local emails to a separate folder that is not part of the IMAP account
folders.

how do i move the email so a "separate folder"??

Yes i am looking in the right place.... no malware here as this is a brand
new unit.

In the message list pane, highlight the message(s) you want to move,
right-click on them, select "Move to Folder".
