Hi. Lets just say that my problem is too complicated to give you a reason why
I need to uninstall this update, but in any case I do. It will not remove in
add/remove programs - say's it cannot uninstall it. How can I manually
uninstall this hotfix?

KB886904

Thanks in advance.

Which of the following are you running?...

Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1

Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1 Service Pack 1

Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.0 Service Pack 2

Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.0 Service Pack 3

Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.0 Service Pack 4

Ok, here's the deal ... I could not install Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP
Media Center Edition (KB900325). So, I attempted in uninstall updates
KB904706 and KB912812. I could only find one of those in my system to
uininstall so I did. I then uninstalled ALL NET Frameworks I had, which
consisted of NET Framework 1.1 and 2.0 and their service packs and their
hotfixes. Some of the hotfixes, I could not uninstall. I then reinstalled NET
Framework 1.1 Redistributable Package. it installed just fine. I then
attempted to install NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 - it failed because it
said I had to first uninstall hotfix KB867460. Well, THAT IS the hotfix!
BUT, it is NOT located in my computer anywhere to uninstall it. So basically,
it is lying? Ha, so anyway, here I am trying to fix this myself. What I mean
by that is, I decided to try and uninstall ANY hotfixes that are related with
ANY NET Framework(s). Well, one of them was the one hotfix I initially
mentioned in my first post here.

So that's it. Any ideas now??

Microsoft e-mail support has been working on this for 5.5 days!, and they
cannot seem to find a resolution - OR, they cannot seem to get me one in a
timely manner.

Thanks.

Bill, If I try system restore, I will be right back where I started from in
the beginning - trying to install update KB900325. (which rewuired me to do
all of the things I have been doing up to this point).

Thanks though.

No it will take you back to before you installed KB900325. Thus
effectively uninstalling it. Then you can tell Windows Update to ignore
this update or whatever ones you want to.

Thanks again for your reply.

ok, I understand what you are saying. However, if I go back to before I
tried to install that update, I still have those updates/hotfixes from way
before. Are you suggesting that I should go back that far, then attemp to
install that update? It just doesn't make sense to me because if I go back,
the NET framework(s) will still be there, and I will get the same error ...
no?
