I downloaded the IE6 SP1 and selected it for win 98. i want to burn it on CD
so that i can install it without having to download it every time. i butnt
it onto CD to install on a computer that only has the original win 98
version but it keeps wanting me to go online ot download it again and it
wont install.

" The Windows Update: Internet Explorere and Internet Tools files on your
computer are not the corect files for your operating system. Setup will now
donwload the dorrect file from the internet"

If done this twice and wasted 2 much time. Please help. reply to
(e-mail address removed) if you can please.

Too vague. What you should have done is downloaded ie6setup.exe
into its own subdirectory and then executed:

ie6setup /c:"ie6wzd /d:1"

You would then get a prompt about which OS you want to download
the remaining .cab files for.

Even when you have the correct files this prompt is still likely
since the install process seems to want to validate the .cab files.
Fortunately you can ignore these connection attempts.

That suggests you didn't download the files for the right OS.
