Please heeeelp erase hard drive

I want to make a clean Instalation of windows but when I
do there is a lot of stuff left like old program files
that don't work properly and I have a lot of truble
geting things to work right.For example Norton int.sec.
wont install.

The motherboard and processor are new(Intel).

Please help me...I'm standing on the edge...
 
When you boot from the CD, press enter and then when XP
detects that there is already an OS it will offer choices,
don't install over the current OS, that is an upgrade or
repair. You must delete the current partition, reformat and
do a clean install.

turn on your computer and go into setup and set cd-rom

for first boot, put in os disk in cd first, when it starts
follow instructions when it gets to partishons deleate all
and install on new and let the program format the drive
and install is clean.. Good luck
