Eduardo--I wonder if you are referring to Microsoft Antispyware? If so, you
should know that you can download the beta2 version, Windows Defender:

download and run, it will remove the current product and substitute beta2,
Windows Defender, which has no UI at all during a scan, if desired.

I like the feature. It's currently implemented in Itunes and Yahoo! Music
Engine and in a somewhat different fashion in the instant messengers.
Although WD now allows a permanent icon in the system tray and a transient
icon, the implementation could be improved via minimize to tray and better
tooltips.

Sorry, I should define minimize to tray. When the window is minimized, the
taskbar entry goes away. The window can be retrieved by clicking the system
tray (notification area) icon. Thiis technique leaves a little extra room in
the taskbar area for other currently running programs.

mine runs in the background while scanning. i have no idea its even
scanning. hmmm
