Jessica

I'm not very technically minded and am having real trouble with my
machine.

I run a firewall (sygate?) and norton but I think something wrong.

I had a disk clean up scheduled every Friday but a couple of weeks ago
now my machine crashed in the middle of it. Now if I try and run
clean up the CPU usage goes up to 98% sometimes 99% and my machine
wont work and the clean up goes no further (left it for two days!).

I am also getting viruses coming through on 40 - 60 emails a day from
websites I've visited i.e. if I go to a shopping website I get an
email through from (e-mail address removed) with a virus
attached.

I'm really stupped on what to do.

Can anyone help?

Very dumb blonde! Jess

Jess,

When the CPU usage goes up like that you should look at
the program file name and see what program file it is
that is draining the cpu resources. The odds are that it
is some type of spyware and that it doesn't like your
running the disk cleanup which happens to be deleting
some of it's files.

Go to www.lavasoftusa.com and download a free copy of Ad-
Aware and install the program. At the main program
screen, click on Check For Updates before scanning your
system and on any other new day that you scan your system
afterwards as new updates are posted often. After
updating, scan your system for spyware and at the results
screen, make sure there are check marks in front of all
items. You can easily set check marks in front of all
items by right clicking on any checkbox and choosing
Select All Objects and then hit Finish. Repeat the
process untill all Spyware is removed. If you get to a
point that some Spyware will not remove, submit a message
at www.lavasoftsupport.com and someone will gladly help
you.

Good Luck!
