hello, i have recently built my own pc and it does not appear to be working. All of my stuff is definately compatible. I have a:

2.4ghz processor on pentium 4
512mb ram
floppy
dvd
rewriter
350watts psu

i believe that the problem is the cpu. How would i know if it was dead or not? when i switch it on the fan works (on both processor and power) and you can hear the hard drive starting up but nothing appears to be view able on screen. My graphics card, hard drive have both been tested and they work.
 
A few questions to ask you, just so I can check what could be the problem:

Which Motherboard is it?
Has it worked at any point?
Are there any jumper settings at all?
Are there any beeps from the PC?

Hopefully we can get this fixed :)

thanks for replying. my motherboard is a Jetway Motherboard model number is P4XFCU, it has no beebs to start with but you can hear the hard drive starting up, i have never had it working before. But i brought the cpu off of ebay and found out via a computer guy it was faulty so i sent it back and this ebayer sent me a new one. I don't understand what you mean by jumper settings? thanks mike
