Pleading Template Problems

The legal pleading template works fine but when I insert an existing file into the pleading, the pleading numbers disappear. Can anyone offer any solutions? Your help is greatly appreciated.
 
Pleading numbers?

Numbered paragraphs?

line numbers in the margin?

Which version of Word are you using?
