Has anyone heard of Plaxo (http://www.plaxo.com).

One of my clients has asked if he can install this on his PC.

Are there any reasons why I shouldn't let him do this? I didn't know if
this software would screw up Outlook or hammer my Exchange server for any
reason.

Thanks

Well; it works, if that is your main question. There are other concerns of
course. For instance; since it is an Internet apllication; is he alowed to
use this extra bandwidth? Who is going to support it when there is an issue
with it?

In my opinion in an organization you should change the question from the
users perspective of; "Can I install it?" to your perspective; "Why do you
want to install it?"

Or, where I work, "Please write a complete business plan demonstrating how
the company will benefit if you install and use this software."

I have a user with windows xp pro, outlook 2002. He
installed Plaxo without my knowledge. Shortly after he
started getting the debug error. Of course I checked
your newsgroup & tried many different solutions. Someone
suggested looking in the Add-in Manager, when I found
nothing I went to the Com Add-in and found Plaxo. I
remembered seeing somewhere that it had been a problem so
I uninstalled it. Guess what, no more error.
I suggest not letting the user install this program. It
does wreak havoc with Outlook.
