place a note onto an email

In Outlook, I read the emails before my boss reads them. I would like to drag
a
sticky note to the page to alert him to any actions I've taken, such as
"attachment printed and put in file" without entering any text to the email.
Is there a way to do this, either with notes or otherwise?
