Pivottable based on autofilter

Is there a possibility for creating a pivottable based
directly on a list filtered with Excel's AutoFilter? I
know you can first filter a list, copy the filtered
records on an new worksheet and then creating a pivottable
on the copied selection, but I'd like to base the
pivottable directly on the filtered list.

A pivot table ignores filters applied to the source list, so you'll have
to extract the data you need first. Or, create a pivot table, and add
some of the fields to the page area, and use those to filter the data.
