I am trying to consolidate several worksheets in a pivot
table using the multiple consolidation range. Each
worksheet has the maximum number of rows populated (i.e.
65,000 lines of data) and I would keep the same headings
for each worksheet. Any ideas???

Yes, it will work. You will need to work through the wizard carefully, and you might find all that data a bit of a struggle, but it should work.

You can create a Pivot Table from multiple consolidation ranges, but you
won't get the same pivot table layout that you'd get from a single
range. There's an example here:

If possible, store your data in a database, such as MS Access, and
you'll have more flexibility in creating the pivot table.
