Pivot Table Problem

My Access 2000 just recently started to give error message "Problem obtaining data" when ever I create a pivot table and try to perform layout opertion. Any suggestions on where to start looking for the cause? This problem just recently developed.

You might have a corrupt acwzmain.mde file. Search for this file on your hard drive and
your installation CD. Grab a new copy from the \PFILES\MSOFFICE\OFFICE\1033 folder of
your install CD, and overwrite the copy that you find on your hard drive.

Tom, I did as you sugested with no improvement in the problem. Actually prior to submitting my question I re-install the complete office 2000 professional in my computer suspecting that there was a corrupted file.

Any other suggestions?
 
Hi Mondi,

Are you trying to use the Pivot Table wizard with a parameter query? A parameter query is
one that prompts the user for information at run-time. Try opening your query--does it
run okay, or is it prompting you for an input?

If that doesn't help solve this problem, then sorry, but I don't have any other

Problem occurres no matter how simple the It occures whether I am using a query as the source data or a simple table. The effect is the same. I still get the error message. "An error occurred while trying to use the Microsoft Excel Pivot Table wizard. Microsoft Excel returned the following error: 'Problems Obtaining data.'".

Guess I will just have to wipe my hard drive clean and re-install from a clean drive.

I am having the same problem with getting the "Problem Obtaining Data" error message. Did you ever find a fix for this problem?
 
I am having a similar problem where I am trying to create a pivot table using data from a table containing 404,000 rows. However I also get the error 'Low on memory' after it loads about 392,000 rows. Is there a max size (row count) an Access Pivot table will allow.
