Has anyone encountered this problem with Excel 2003 and
do you have a workaround?
The problem is intermittment.
After correctly creating a pivot table with "pages",
the 'page' drop down menu for some reason begins to
incorrectly show the items. Interestingly, although the
name of the item is incorrectly, if this item is
selected, the pivot table displays data that is
consistent with the ordering of the drop down list (ie,
if the drop down list should be A1, B1, C1; but displays
A1, B, C1, then item B1 will be displayed if B is selected
If the source data replaces B1 with ABC, then the drop
down menu displays 'ABC'. If ABC is changed back to B1,
then incorrect data is displayed in the drop down menu.
Refreshing the pivot table is of no use.
The only solution appears to be recreating the pivot
table, but, the problem reappears (apparently for no
reason)
