Hello Maris,

in a previous post you mentioned that you would like to try nlite but you
didnt
have sp2 on xp so you could not install the network framework 2.0

however as another poster pointed out (Jona)
that there is a work around. I am posting it here again so you can see it

see below dotted line:
----------------------------

There's an alternative runtime to install (~6mb). Here's the text from the
'instructions.txt' file:

<C&P>
Description:
These are separated nLite runtime files from .NET Framework 2.0 so you
don't need to install it if you don't want to !

Instructions:
Just install it to the nLite's folder...it MUST be in the same place as
nLite.
These runtimes are relatively small to download and it doesn't register any
DLLs, just copies needed files.

Warning:
Also...people with Framework installed don't use this because it will
invalidate your .NET installation.
If you however decide to install Framework then first uninstall these
runtimes and reboot.</C&P>

Thank you for the workaround, John. Unfortunately, some other software on
my PC needs .NET Framework 1.1 which is installed, so I have to heed the
"Warning" and pass up nLite.

Maris

Maris, you can install network framework 1.1 and 2 at the same time.. they
are independant...
Some programs need 1.1 and some need 2, and some need 1.1 even if you have
2! lol
One does not cancel the other.
so what I am guessing here is that if you do what nlite needs tne there will
be no problem

This is just theoretical because I think you used autopatcher finally... I
am just adding this for other
people reading

PS. there is a beta of framework 3 out....
