In another thread you recommended PageDefrag which I loaded and ran
once. I was leery as another defrag utility I once used completely
screwed up my system and I had to rebuild. I'd like to know John if you
have it set to defrag with every reboot. I use Norton Utilities on a
regular basis for basic hd defrag - this will not be a problem I hope.
Thanks muchly,

You didn't ask me but IMO defragging at every boot would be madness. I
last defragged C: 707 days ago...it currently has 1% fragmentation.

No, I don't. I start the program and have it run after the next reboot.
So far, no problems.

I hope not too. If I were you, I wouldn't configure PageDefrag to run
every reboot. Probably better to play it safe and run the program
manually like I do.

I don't reply to trolls like Andy Mabbett or Doc (who uses sock puppets)
for instance. No adware, cdware, commercial software, crippleware,
demoware, nagware, PROmotionware, shareware, spyware, time-limited
software, trialware, viruses or warez for me, please.

dadiOH, the program he's referring to only defrags the paging files and
Registry hives. However, I agree that it doesn't need to be run on every
reboot.

Then your drive REALLY needs to be defragged!
You got your 1% from the Windows statement which actually means, that 1%
of your files are fragmented. Since they are probably the files most
often used, you need to defrag.
