ping is not recognized as an internal ..command

Hi ,

I tried to ping or telnet on the dos prompt and received
this error message saying "ping is not recognized as an
internal or external command, operable program or batch
file" . How can I resolve this problem. I noticed it after
installing a product on my machine.

It's probably because of an incompetently written installer.
