Greetings,
I have a P3 1GHz processor in an Abit BX133
motherboard. I recently put it in a new case. I
was monitoring the temperature and wondered
what an acceptable temperature range was for the
PIII when its operating ? I observed in the bios that
it was running at about 60 degrees C. Is that OK ?

thanks,
Darryl

PS: An yes I know cooler is better, but want to know if I'm safe until I
get a cooling aid.

70C is considered the upper limit for not damaging the CPU. And is your 60C
at idle or under heavy load like 3D games?

This temp was mesured after the machine was sitting
at the windows login screen most of the day. I reboot
into the bios and looked at the temps. The 59-60
was from the CPU temp info.
