Anyone happen to know a simple way of telling if a bottle of black
inkjet ink is pigment or dye type? two bottles I have are identical and
I know one is pigment but which one? Lost labels in water!

simply drop a drop in glas of watter
If you get something like Cola it is dye

If you got somethig like coffee it pigment

Feedback:
Well thanks for the suggestion - I tried it. (HP Blacks).
I got grey water with the pigment and weak ribena with the dye ink,
On adding bleach to the glasses the grey stayed grey, the weak ribena
turned into pale yellow! if you didnt have the glasses side by side it
would be more difficult. The bleach test is much more definite. C+
