Subject: Re: Pictures show up as x when emailing file
Can you advise me on how to do that? Or is there another way to email a
letter with a picture inserted? I am using Word 2000 and I wasn't sure if
someone who didn't have Word would be able to open a doc. file. Thanks
again!

You can't embed images in an HTML file. They are always saved separately,
either in the same folder or in a separate supporting folder. For recipients
to see the images, you must include them with the document.

file
with a picture inserted that I can email as an attachment. When this file is
emailed, the text is viewable but the picture simply has the dreaded X.
Could someone help me fix this before I pull my hair out???Please email me
with the subject "Picture problem". Thanks in advance!
gdb,
Contrary to what Suzanne states :-( It is ENTIRELY possible to
embed an image within a Word created web page.
It does however have it's drawbacks, in that ONLY Microsoft users which
have Vector Markup Language software installed may view the image. OTHER
(non-MS) browsers won't even see a red X.
To create a web page ( I can't believe I'm actually advising somebody to do
this, I'm going to hate myself in the morning,)
Open Word,
Tools /Options/ Web Options/ Pictures/ check/tick "Rely on VML for
displaying graphics in Browsers"
OK yourself out.
Suggest you close Word and reopen Word.
Create you page in Word as you desire.
Save As HTML or web page when completed.
This created page creates terrible incompatibility issues and this practice
(creating web pages from within Word) is responsible for the demeaning
criticism of MS Front Page by many web makers, who believe that FP created
this pages, which they are asked to repair.
