Pictures Much Darker When Scanned

I have a Canon scanner about 5 years old, when I scan pictures they scan
darker than the print. Any way to adjust this?

Of course. Most scans need post-processing. Just adjust the curves to
produce the image you want to see. Or get a new scanner.

Have you tried profiling your scanner with Profile Prism?
