Pictures in formulas

Does anyone know how to make an =if() formula that can
display a picture in a cell for its' True statement and
nothing for its' False statement?

I think this is impossible (unless the brand new version has some dramatic new features
that is). A formula can only return a result to the cell. And a cell can not contain a
picture, those things float on top of the sheet on the "drawing layer". But what you try
to achieve is probably possible with a macro.

Hi

You can put a picture in a cell comment and hide or show it using a formula.
That might work for what you want.

To insert a picture into a comment:

1. Right-click the cell which contains the comment.
2. Choose Show Comment, and clear text from comment.
3. Click on the comment to select the comment
4. Right click on the comment border
5. Choose Format Comment
6. On the Colours and Lines tab, click the drop-down arrow for colour.
7. Click Fill Effects
8. On the picture tab, click Select Picture
9. Locate and select the picture
10. Click Insert, click OK, click OK
11. Right click cell with comment and then click Hide Comment.

Now, if you hover the mouse over the cell with the comment, the picture is
displayed.
