Happened to come across this free Plugin.

B/W Conversion:

"Conversion to B/W with full tonal response control. B/W film simulation,
film grain, toning, color filters etc. Yet another B/W conversion plugin?
Yes, but one with powerfull features that allow full control over the
final result"

It is a PhotoShop plugin but if your image editor supports
this type of plugin, your good to go.

I downloaded it and loaded into PS CS, and it seems to do a really nice job.
I only say 'seems' because I only tried it on two photos.

I've been using many of these plugins for awhile now (in GIMP) ; they are
very good quality, highly recommended.

I downloaded and installed most of them into PS CS yesterday, and so far,
I'm quite pleased.

These work with Photoshop?

Yes they do, and very well (as designed, at least). They may not all do what
*you* need, but they're well worth the effort and time to check them out.

Thanks very much. I'll check them out.
