hi, I've been having trouble copying photos to cd.

I've updated Roxio and I've done the repair install of XP
I go to "My Pictures" and click copy to CD
I get the bubble that says "files waiting to copy to CD"
I click on the bubble
I click "write to CD"
It starts writing fine then... with only 5 sec left it
seems to stop, forces me to cancel, and no pics are found
on the CD.

Some suggestions I've gotten... try a firmware update or
try Nero. Where would I find a firmware update for a
Dell CD writer? And... What is the cost of downloading
Nero?

Any info would help?!

Thanks

The firmware update would be from Dell or the CD manufacturer.
If you already have Roxio and it is updated, there is no need to buy Nero.
They do the same thing.
If you have Roxio, did you try it? You should open it, click on Select a
project and then Photo Album or simply select make a Data CD. Both will
(should!)work.

Ok, that helps a bit. When I use XP's burning
capabilities (My Pictures...copy to cd... etc...) the
whole thing stops.

I've tried to use Roxio (version 5.3.5.10). When I pick
the files to copy to Data CD, It gets hung up on
the "importing sessions" & takes forever.

I don't care which method I use, I just want my pics to
CD. But, shouldn't XP come with this capability?? Any
suggestions from here?

Try rereading my initial response, or have someone read it
to you. Start by disabling XP's burning function for the
drive, and see if EZCD will function for you. If not,
uninstall EZCD and see if XP will work OK on its own. Still
no luck? Try the firmware update, and/or dump EZCD for the
latest version, or get Nero.
