Photos etc. will not open

For some unknown reason- some of pic's and files will not open. For example I
made a cillection of my best photos and ones in their orig and the new ones
are "locked by file mgr" & is a "read-only" according to Adobe 4. When I
viewed them in detail order under the attributes there is an A for the ones
that will not open and nothing for the others. However if I go to the
individual pic--props--the attributes are clear only shows up under the
details. HELP!!
 
I did that and it still won't open. The thumbnail shows the image but it is
blank elsewhere. I cannot find out anywhere what the "A" means in the
attributes as those that do not open have this. Many many thanks!
