Photoimpression

When I try to run this program, a window pops up saying
the following;

This application has failed to stat because AVICAP32.dll
was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the
problem.

What is AVICAP32.dll? I've re-installed
Photoimpression's, but still not running...

It is 'Avi capture'. It is one of the protected system files, so it
should have been replaced if it got deleted from its standard place in
windows\system32. Check for it there - if not present, run MSConfig.exe
and use the Expand Files button to get i386\avicap.dl_ from the CD and
expand it as windows\system32\avicap.dll

If it is there, check in Control Panel - System - Advanced; click
Environmental variables and make sure the Path one starts off with
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\system32\WBEM;

And if that is right it *may* be that this is an old program with
Windows\system (rather than System32) explicitly wired into it, so make
a copy of the file there
