Hi:
By using Flash-Drive Stick/4 GB, I want to transfer some of photoes and
Scanned Photoes from Vista to XP.

My question is;
How to transfer photoes, particularly 'Scanned Photoes' from Vista to
XP by using Flash Drive Stick?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Then I suggest you pack your computer up in the original box, take it back
to where you bought it from, and ask the nice man if he would exchange it
for a WII.

Sheeeesh!

Do you REALLY not understand "copy and paste"?

Put the USB thumbdrive into a USB port on the XP machine. Open My Computer
and then double-click on the icon for your thumbdrive. Find the pictures
you want to transfer. You now have two windows open in front of you: the
one for your thumbdrive and the one for your pictures. Highlight pictures
by left-clicking, then right-click/drag them to the thumbdrive window. Let
go of the right mouse button and you'll get a context menu; left-click on
Copy. Do not choose Move. This will copy your selected files to the
thumbdrive.

To select multiple contiguous files, highlight the first file in the series
and then hold down the Shift key and highlight the last file in the series.
All your desired files will be highlighted. To delete non-contiguous files,
hold down the Ctrl key as you select. Right-click on any one of the
selected files to do your drag/copy of them all.

Once you have all the desired files copied to your thumbdrive, take the
thumbdrive to your Vista machine and put it into one of the USB ports. Now
do the reverse of what you did above. You will probably want to put the
pictures into your Pictures folder on Vista.

This is very basic computer-handling stuff. It is completely OK if you don't
know this and you should not feel badly (we all have our areas of
expertise) but you may wish to have a knowledgeable friend come and show
you how to do this so you're comfortable with the process.

Hi, Malke.
All your desired files will be highlighted. To delete non-contiguous
files,

I'm sure you meant: To copy non-contiguous files...

Yes! Thanks for catching that, R.C. I was using my boilerplate I give to
people who have problems deleting (winding up with multiple copies because
they're moving the mouse slightly) and thought I had changed the "delete"
references to 'copy". Obviously I missed that one!

Thanks again and warm regards as always,

Malke

Do you really expect someone who doesn't know how to copy and paste to have
a clue about what you said?

They're just files, like any others. They will probably have an
extension of *.jpg, maybe *.gif. Just copy them to the memory stick
using drag-and-drop, copy/paste, console command, whatever you like.
No special treatment is necessary.

If they can read and follow directions, yes. If they can't, then no. But I
can't do anything about that.
