The fine folks at Microsoft, point you to this Sonic DVD plugin,
to make the job simple. This is for people who want to download
a free software tool from Microsoft, and then spend $19.95 to finish
the job.

*******

If I fire up my search engine, and look for WMV to DVD, I can
find a link like this.

"How to Play a Windows Media Video (.wmv) File on a TV"

http://www.ehow.com/how_2051133_med...ce=yahoo&utm_medium=ssp&utm_campaign=yssp_art

"If you want to watch a WMV file on DVD player (assuming your
DVD player cannot natively watch WMV files) you can convert
the video file to MPG using a program like SUPER or TMPENG
and then use CDBURNERXP or your local CD burning app. Programs
like ROXIO and NERO tend to be able to burn WMV to DVD directly
and still play in many players. (DVD-R or DVD+R) tend to play
in many DVD players. (More so then DVD-/+RW)"

So you could experiment with Super or TMPGEnc. Next, I go to videohelp.com,
to get more information about video tools and hardware.

http://www.videohelp.com/guides/category/how-to-convert-to-dvd-mpeg2-4;10#522

http://www.videohelp.com/tools/TMPGEnc_Plus

This is the other one mentioned.

http://www.erightsoft.com/faqt.html

Using free or nearly free tools, can take more time to get the
job done.

*******

A third way to do the job, is some video editor programs, offer
a limited time trial (30 days?). Maybe you could find a copy
of Sony Vegas or one of the many other video editor programs,
and see if they offer a trial version.

The USENET newsgroup rec.video.desktop, is another place to
post a question about tools like that.

*******

Considering the potential complexity of using some of the
free tools, the $19.98 Sonic plugin looks attractive (if it works).

To create a DVD with Nero that will play
on a free standing DVD player you need
NeroVision.(Tutorial below)

For an alternative...have a look at the following article:
