Photo Scanner Issue

I have an hp photo scanner 1000. Windows detects the
scanner as a "drive" and assigns a drive letter, e.g.,
"F".

I believe this happens with one or two other scanner
models. This can be a problem if the drive designation
prevents detection of a device that actually is a "drive",
e.g., a ZIP drive.

Does "Windows Download" offer a "fix" for this issue? Has
anyone else discovered this peculiar quirk in the Windows
operating system?

AAdams,

I might suggest that you post this to a more appropriate NG - such as
WIN2000.general or WIN2000.Hardware as I am not sure that this question has
anything to do with Active Directory.

I might also suggest that you contact the manufacturer ( in this case, HP )
to see if this is normal behavior. They might have made 'this peculiar
quirk in the Windows operating system'.

HTH,

Cary
