Phone number field formating

Hi Brook,

Word tables don't have the same kind of cell formatting options that you get
in Excel. If you want a phone number format, you'll have to type the number
in that way.

In excel you can format a cell to automatically display a phone number with
the appropirate dashes and spaces.

I cannot figure out how to do so in a table in word. Is it possible? If
so, how do I confifure it.
 
Unless it's a form field or merge field.
