phone calls with wab

there is an option to dial phone numbers in xp's wab by
clicking on the action button and selecting the person
from the list of contacts.
my question is how do i answer a phone call with my mouse
when the event of a phone ring is sounded in my xp.
i want to answer the phone call and use my mic and loud
speekers.

i have a modem and the win xp fax program sounds a ring tone
whenever i receive a phone call
but i want to answer the phone from the computer
without the fax program trying to receive it

First, are you sure it's a VOICE modem, which is what Nicholas asked. Not
just a fax modem.

Second, and this is purely curiosity, as I've seen these sorts of questions
before...what is the advantage to using the computer as a go-between for
phone calls? To me, it would seem easier to just pick up the phone than it
would be to hook up a microphone and diddle with the sound settings and
whatever else you'd have to do to get it to work. And I can imagine that on
the receiving end, the sound quality wouldn't be all that great. And then if
you're using speakers instead of a headset, there might be feedback. It just
seems more trouble than it would be worth.

Not trying to discourage you or anything, I'm just curious why people want
to do this. Is there some advantage that I'm not imagining?
