Phantom Users

Sometimes when I logoff, XP asks if I really want to shutdown as there is
still an active user. But I am the only user and I've already logged off.
What is going on here?

Can't that be you have Guest account with no password enabled, and
someone enters your computer from the net, using this account?

If the machine is on a LAN (even a small home network), another user
may have used a resource on your box. That connection can sometimes
stay open even after the other use has stopped accessing the resource.
