Over the weekend, something happened to my 4-month old Toshiba
Satellite that rendered many functions of the OS useless. I'm not
really sure what it was, possibly spyware or a virus, but at any rate,
thanks to a clean restore point, I'm back and operating normally,
AFAIK.
I had one question, however. I notice that in the add/remove programs
applet, a reference is made to America Online, which is no longer
installed on my computer. When I click "change/remove" the prog
searches for a version of AOL, which of course is nowhere to be found.
Is there any way I can get rid of that entry or is it there for good?
Doesn't really bug me, I'm just curious. I've already edited the
registry to remove all notations to AOL, as well as the directories
that contained the prog files, filing cabinet, etc.
TIA
