I have an Outlook 2003 client that is continually trying
to send 4 mail messages. These message do not exist in
the outbox.

It continually tries and fails.

Please help!!

Have you run a complete Virus check and Spyware check ? Those programs can
do that, but usually do not tell you what program is sending them. How did
you find out that Outlook is trying to send these ? Maybe you have a view
applied and cannot see them ?
If you have not already, I think I would do a on-line virus check at least,
two of the many are here:

Symantec Security Check
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym

McAfee FreeScan
http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp?cid=9914

I have done a adware and virus check and still see the
same behavior.

What I see is the send/receive dialog and with my main
mail account always trying to send 4 messages and always
failing.

I have removed the email accounts, detected and repaired
Outlook, Scanned my system with adware 6.0 and NAV,
compressed my pst, ran scanpst on my pst. Enabled and
disabled my firewall as well as antivirus email scanning.

I am wondering if it is Outlook or NAV 2004 causing the
problem.

They are probably read receipts.

I am not sure, I do know that I noticed this start after
several meeting invites faild to send.

However, the main problem is that they never go away.
There are always 4 messages that keep trying to send and
failing.

Is there a mail cache that can be corrupt? Is there
another place (in outlook or on the file system) that I
can find something to delete these messages, since they
are not in the inbox. I have even looked at the inbox
with Outlook Spy to see if they were hidden messages and
they are not.

Any ideas please....

Jack

Mystery solved, knid-of

I removed my default pst from Outlook and create a new one
and set it as the default.
Restarted Outlook, everythign is fine.
Imported all my data from my old pst, all is still good.
