Whenever I try to burn a CD-R or CD-RW using my ATAPI CD-R/RW 16x10x40 drive, either using the built-in xp system or Nero, everything SEEMS to work fine. By this I mean that is says its writing, it takes about the expected time for different filesizes being written and the little red writing-disk light comes on on the front of the drive. However, once it has supposedly been successfully written, the disk is still blank. I've lost a few disks worth of data because of this since it used to work fine and I didn't bother to check it worked manually. I have a hunch it has something to do with running the correct services correctly.
the Plug and play service is on Automatic mode and is running and the IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service is on Manual mode and is running. I've tried everything I can think of, please help.
