Phantom attachments?

I've sent a message with two html files as attachments but am unable to
access the attached files.

In the Sent items list the message shows the attachment paperclip but
there's no 'Attachments:' line in the header area when I open the message.
Naturally the recipient can't access the files either.

How can I retreive these files?

BTW, changing the security settings for attachments (even with the Outlook
Permissions Addin) doesn't make any difference.

are you using RTF? Were they embedded in the document or attached?

Hi Diane, i am having the same problem but i am using the program called
Copernic, this program searches a pre defined websites (set by me) for
changes and if 5 or more words has changed in the website it sends me a
report. when i chnaged to MS Office 2003 from 2002 i got the phantom
attachment and if i double click on the empty space next to the "attached
file:" i get the following error,
"Unable to dreate the attached file rapportville.htm, click on the right
mouse button for help etc..." the Rapportville.htm is actually the changed
website with highlights on the new changes.
thanks

Hi to sort this out you need to do as it says on this site, if you're
running Outlook with Exchange.

Text format and I'm pretty sure they were attached. I usually drag and drop
files from the desktop onto the mail window.
