Hi All,

Need some advise on the above mention subject. RecentlY, I
had receive complain from users that it took too long to
launch Outlook, and I find out that their Personnal Folder
(PST Files) is over 1 GB. But after they tried to move
some folders to another PST files. The orginal is still
the same size even the user had move all the folders.

If there anyway that for the user to prevent this.

After data is removed from the PST, did the user run the compact option?
(right click on personal folders and select properties | advanced button |
compact button)

User might try running the inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe) against the
problematic PST file. At the very least, it would rule out any corruption.

Last but not least, is the problematic PST file on a local drive or network
drive? The reason that I ask is that Microsoft doesn't support the use of
PST file(s) from a network drive.

No the user did not use the Compact option.

This is happened on most of my users. Some of them is
using Laptop(VIP) which pst files is in local drive while
some users are in desktop(Sec for the VIP) which pst files
is in network drive

two other ideas...

1) exclude PST file(s) from antivirus scanning
2) defrag the drive (PST file might be heavily fragmented)
