personalize emails sent from distribution list?

I send out monthly updates via emails to several large groups I have in my
distibution lists. Right now the emails simply start "dear friends". Is
there a way I can personaliaze each email to paste each conatcs name in the
email? Thanks

Not with Outlook and a DL. Yes, with Outlook and Word and contacts (not a
DL), though mail merge. Yes, with a DL through a couple of third-party
