Everytime I open an Excel file..Personal locked for
editing,how do I correct this? Any help appreciated.Thanks.
 
It sounds like you open a second instance of personal.xls, that is the only
way I can get that message.
 
It may be that the "read only" file attribute is set. You can change that
through Windows Explorer.
