Amy

When I open excel, whether it be a new worksheet or an
existing one, my personal workbook automatically opens.
It never used to so I may have somehow by accident set it
to but now I can't figure out how to change it back so it
doesn't open every time. Not sure if everyone has a
personal.xls or if it is just something with the company I
work for but this file opens all the time.

Please help! Thanks in advance!

It opens all the time and is usually used to store personal macros in. Only
difference is that most people's personal.xls are hidden so you don't even
notice it. With it open and active, choose Window / Hide and forget it. Close
Excel and if prompted whether you want to save changes to your personal macro
workbook, say yes!!

Macros stored in this book are available through Tools / Macros regardless of it
being hidden.

It should open, but it shouldn't be visible. Open it, do window>hide, hide
it and later when asked
about updating it when you quit excel answer yes

Thank you so much!
