personal web server

does anyone know why microsoft allows personal webserver to be installed on
windows 98,me and xp professional and not on xp home. '95 and '98 are earlier
versions than xp hoome. also do you know if there is a way to install
personal web server on an xp home computer. I am using frontpage xp or 2002
and also windows xp home. I need pws for a web page program i will be taking.

IIS is not included with XP Home but there are ways of installing this.

Install a real web server on your computer, like Apache. When the hacker and
script kiddies come knocking on your door, you'll be glad you did.

Windos XP does NOT come with PWS.
It comes with IIS 5.1.

You can do a web search (Google maybe) for Web Server for Windows.
Apache is a good choice.

More specifically, Windows XP does NOT come with PWS. XP HOME comes
with nothing, while XP PRO comes with IIS.

Oh, and PWS is not the same thing as IIS. Don't confuse them.
