Personal Folder access denied after reinstall

Greetings!

I recently conducted a "repair" installation of XP pro
that turned into a parallel install after teh prompt that
I might lose all my desktop and My Doc etc contents if I
reinstall over the original location.

All my personal folders are still there after the
successful installation but I can't access them...I
get "Access Denied" messages. Is there anything I can do
to get back into those personal folders or did I "catch-
22" myself out of my data?

Any suggestions are most greatly appreciated.

Found my own answer after thinking of a different way to
phrase the search question. For others with similar
problems the fix was in:
