For my Windows XP laptop I purchased and installed
Norton's Personal Firewall 2004 because I was getting WAY
too many popups, some of which were porn. The problem?
When trying to send emails, the system will not allow me
top access my address book (because it is a pop up I
suppose?). How do I get around that?

Sounds very unlikely. The firewall controls the software connections
that can be made through you communications connection. This is far
removed from the e-mail address book. You have a problem with the
address book that is separate from the Norton firewall product. And no
the address book is not a pop-up.
