I use Outlook 2002 SP-1 under XP on my desktop computer
and Outlook 2000 SR-1 under Win98 on my laptop. When I
copy OUTLOOK.PST and MYADDRESSES.PAB from my desktop to
my laptop my personal address book is notloaded, nor can
I find a way to access it. If I import it to Outlook
2000 it combines it with my Contacts. How can I get
Outlook 2000 to recognize MYADDRESS.PAB and its contents
separately from Contacts as Outlook 2002 does?

Thanks, Ken Burenga

You probably have Outlook 2000 installed in Internet Mail Only Mode. Check
Help | About Microsoft Outlook to verify this.

The Personal Address Book service is only available to Outlook 2000 when
it's installed in Corporate or Workgroup mode. You can switch modes through
Tools | Options | Mail Setup (or is it Mail Services?). Make sure you have
your Office CD handy.

Out of curiosity, why do you choose to utilize a personal address book in
addition to a Contacts folder? Since the inclusion of distibution list
support in Outlook 2000 Contacts, I wouldn't think there'd be a compelling
reason not to just import those addresses into a COntacts folder and do away
with the Personal Address Book.
