Hello
i installed sp on my xp pro,
that did'nt work,
i had perpetual reboot,
i could uninstall correctly it by doing batch spuninst.txt with windows cd.
All was ok.

But, because all my programs didn't work very good, i made a System Restore
with date before i have installed sp2.

And when i reboot
the problems is the same that when i installed SP2
i have perpetual reboot and i can't see the error message (with sp2 error i
saw that error was winsrv)
i can't go to "Mode Without Failure with dos command"
certainly because my regitry is not correct

so i want to know if someone can edit for me a batch file that make that
(because i think this is the solution):
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet\Control\CrashControl
turn Dword " AutoReboot " value to 0
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet\Control\CrashControl
turn CrashDumpEnabled to 1

For information i have two systems on my hard drive
one is xp pro that i have problems with and the other is win 98.
Actually i am connecting to win 98(, i made that for a rescue help).

Please help
any suggestion is welcome,
Thanks

You receive a "Stop: c0000135" and "winsrv was not found" error message after
you install Windows XP Service Pack 2
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885523

Windows XP Service Pack 2 is not available to install from Windows Update
and is not offered by Automatic Updates

a failed Windows XP SP2 installation:

a repair might help, but then again you may have the same problem after a
repair install.

my recommendation would be to format, clean install windows, then install
SP2 before installing ANY OTHER programs.(if possible)

Parallel install if you need to backup DATA.

not only spyware can affect the Sp2 install.

Programs like Antivirus can prevent a successful service pack install. and
even damage a windows install to a point that it would be very difficult to
resolve without a clean install.
