Permissions to NETLOGON directory

We're trying to give a user modify permission for the NETLOGON directory,
but when the user tries to modify or create any files in that directory, it
keeps coming back access denied. I've double-checked the permissions, and
everything seems fine, but I can't figure out where the problem is. Am I
missing something? Thanks,

I'm not sure a regular user would need modify or create permissions in that
folder. Rather not.
266118 has the details about the defautl ntfs permissions and how to restore
them.

And I'm quite grateful to call it an idea, I have to say!
