Permissions in WIN2K Server

Hi

I am having some problems with WIN2K Server permissions.
I work at a school district and I am trying to setup a server so that students can access a folder to store their school work. I have one directory setup and inside that directory I have a folder for each grade level. Under each grade level I have a student assigned for that grade level. I want to have it so that each student can go to their folder and no other students can access that folder. ( and still allowing Admin to see the everything )

I have been playing with the permissions and I cannot seem to get it to work right. I either let the whole student base see each folder or no one can access any folder, other then Administrator. I cant figure out what I have done wrong and cannot set it so that only the one student can see his/her folder.


Any help would be appreciated greatly.
 
Do students log onto the workstations with their own
logins or just a generic login?

If every student has a user account, you can set them up
in Active Directory to have Home folder locations. If you
set it up correctly(using: %username%), then permissions
are automatically set in Windows to allow only that user
and administrators access to that folder.
