permission differences between XP Pro and 2000

I apologize in advance for this being a rather broad question, but not
sure how else to state it.

We are noticing a lot of differences between 2000 and XP Pro security
issues in a networked environment.

For example, we will setup a networked (IP) printer in 2000 and it
works great, set it up on XP Pro with the exact same permissions and
people cannot print to it.

So the question is: Is there any reference (Book, CD, whatever) out
there that talks in depth about understanding XP Pro security,
permissions, etc.

Thanks for any tips.

Erik

I have the opposite problem. I set the printer up on XP
and I have no problems. I have a printer on 2000 that
requires some stupid password to even connect to 2000. It
bugs the crap out of me and when you try to connect, it
only connects to hidden shares. Doesn't ask for a
username, only a password. What to do?
