To resolve some issues I had with Outlook '03, I had to create a few new
users. Now that everything is working again, I would like to remove those
user names from the FILE structure.

I have removed them as users in control panel, but cannot delete them under
Windows Explorer, where they tag along under the Documents and Settings
subdirectory.

Everytime I try to delete, I am told windows needs those files, etc....

Is there a simple way to clean this mess up?

Thanks.

A member of the administrators group can take ownership of any remaining
files and do whatever is appropriate.

If I understand how Windows works, you won't be able to do much with the
folders. But, if they are empty, why bother?

They are not truly empty, as there are crumbs of stuff in each of the user
files, and it's just clutter.

But I am the admin, and cannot delete past removal of most of the 'crumbs'....

Cannot understand why it's not like any other file. I even went through a
command prompt to try. Guess I'll try safe mode next.

Thx.

Have you disabled simple file sharing?
If you have, what does the security tab show are the various permissions?
Your administrator account must have the delete permission (which as a
member of the administrators group you can give yourself).

When deleting a user profile there is an option to remove the files. Did
you choose that one?
